Hi, I’m Mike – Welcome to HowToDoRecipes.com
If you’d told me 10 years ago that I’d end up running a cooking website, I probably would’ve laughed and burned my toast at the same time.
Back then, I was the kind of guy who thought “cooking” meant boiling pasta and pouring jarred sauce on top. I was always on the go — juggling work, late nights, and grabbing whatever I could eat with one hand while scrolling on my phone. But then life changed. Fast.
A few years ago, I moved into my first apartment with a real kitchen — not just a microwave and a mini-fridge. I still remember the first time I tried to cook a real meal. It was a total mess. The smoke alarm went off, the chicken was dry, and I ended up ordering pizza anyway.
But something stuck with me that night. I realized I wanted more from food than just convenience. I wanted to learn. I wanted to feel confident in the kitchen, not clueless. So, I started small — scrambled eggs, one-pot meals, homemade sandwiches. I failed a lot, but every now and then, I’d make something that made me stop and think: “Wow, I made that?”
That feeling? That’s what I want to share with you.
Why I Started HowToDoRecipes.com
This site was born out of frustration — and then passion.
I searched everywhere online for recipes that didn’t talk down to me, didn’t assume I had a dozen rare spices, or a professional mixer, or hours to spare. I couldn’t find one that felt like me. So I built it.
HowToDoRecipes.com is for beginners, for busy people, for anyone who’s ever Googled “easy dinner ideas” at 7:13 PM with a growling stomach. It’s a place where cooking is doable, not daunting — where flavor and simplicity can live on the same plate.

A Few Things About Me
- I still mess up recipes sometimes. (That’s part of the fun.)
- I believe grilled cheese and soup can fix almost anything.
- I once made pancakes with salt instead of sugar — and served them to my neighbor. Sorry, Kevin.
