Shrimp Shumai: Irresistibly Easy Dim Sum Delight

A traditional dim sum favorite, Classic Shrimp Shumai are savory, juicy dumplings made with tender shrimp and aromatic seasonings, perfect as an appetizer or part of a feast.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp (peeled, deveined, finely chopped)
  • 2 scallions (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 20 wonton wrappers

Instructions

Instructions:

  1. Mix all ingredients (except wrappers) into a sticky filling.
  2. Place 1 tsp filling in each wrapper, pinch sides, leave top open.
  3. Steam over boiling water for 8–10 mins.

Notes

Garnish with green peas, diced carrot, or roe for a traditional look. Serve with dipping sauce: soy sauce + rice vinegar + ginger.
