- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp cinnamon, pinch nutmeg, chili
Instructions
- Step 1: Combine dairy and spices – Whisk together cream, milk, and spices in a saucepan.
- Step 2: Melt chocolate – Heat until just simmering, then remove from heat and stir in chopped dark chocolate.
- Step 3: Prepare yolk mixture – In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Step 4: Temper yolks – Slowly add warm chocolate cream to yolk mixture while whisking constantly.
- Step 5: Thicken mixture – Return to saucepan and cook on medium heat, stirring until thickened.
- Step 6: Chill – Pour into serving glasses, cover, and chill for 2 hours.
- Step 7: Serve – Serve chilled, optionally with whipped cream or a sprinkle of chili.

Adjust the spice level to taste. Use high-quality dark chocolate for best results.
