Ingredients
Scale
- 2 inches fresh turmeric root, scrubbed
- 3 inches fresh ginger root, scrubbed
- 2 large lemons, juiced
- 1 medium orange, juiced
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup filtered water
Instructions
- Prepare the roots: Thoroughly scrub the fresh turmeric and ginger roots and chop them into small, blender-friendly pieces.
- Extract citrus juice: Juice the lemons and the orange into a small bowl, ensuring no seeds remain.
- Combine all ingredients: Place the chopped roots, citrus juice, black pepper, and water into a high-speed blender.
- Process until smooth: Blend the mixture on high speed for about 60 seconds until it is completely liquefied.
- Strain the liquid: Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag into a glass jar to remove the fibrous pulp.
- Portion and serve: Pour the concentrated liquid into shot glasses and enjoy immediately or store in the fridge.
Notes
Using fresh roots instead of powder provides a much more vibrant flavor and higher potency. Always include a pinch of black pepper to help your body absorb the turmeric.
