Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip recipe featured image

Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip

Discover a protein-packed, low-calorie alternative to traditional ranch dip. This creamy, tangy, and herb-filled dip is made with cottage cheese, offering a healthier snack option perfect with fresh vegetables, crackers, or as a sandwich spread.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cottage cheese (full-fat or low-fat)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (or ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons milk (any kind, to adjust consistency)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Blend Base Ingredients – Combine cottage cheese, dill, chives, minced garlic (or garlic powder), onion powder, and black pepper in a food processor or blender. Process until smooth and creamy.
  2. Step 2: Adjust Consistency – If the dip is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Step 3: Season to Taste – Stir in the lemon juice (if using) and add salt to taste. Taste and adjust any seasonings as needed.
  4. Step 4: Chill and Serve – Transfer the dip to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to fully develop. Serve with your favorite veggies, crackers, or as a healthy spread.

Notes

For a chunkier dip, you can skip blending and just mix everything well in a bowl. If using dried herbs, let the dip sit for at least 15 minutes in the fridge to allow the flavors to meld. Chilling for at least 30 minutes before serving is recommended for best flavor development.
