Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (470ml) cold water, divided
- 2 packets (approx. 14g) unflavored bovine gelatin powder
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) boiling water
- Optional: 1-2 tablespoons preferred sweetener (e.g., erythritol, stevia)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon flavor extract (e.g., vanilla, lemon)
Instructions
- Step 1: Bloom Gelatin – In a medium bowl, sprinkle the unflavored gelatin powder evenly over 1 cup (235ml) of cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom and absorb the water.
- Step 2: Dissolve Gelatin – Add the 2 tablespoons of boiling water to the bloomed gelatin mixture. If using, add sweetener and flavor extract at this stage. Whisk continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is clear.
- Step 3: Combine Liquids – Pour in the remaining 1 cup (235ml) of cold water and stir well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
- Step 4: Pour and Chill – Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into a serving dish, small individual molds, or a container of your choice. Place in the refrigerator.
- Step 5: Set Firmly – Chill for at least 4 hours, or until the gelatin is firm and set. For best results, chill overnight.
- Step 6: Serve – Once firm, cut the gelatin into desired portions and serve. Enjoy as a satiating snack or light dessert.
