Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup raw, organic honey
- 12–15 fresh garlic cloves, peeled
- 1 clean glass jar with a tight-sealing lid
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare Garlic – Peel the garlic cloves and crush them slightly with the side of a knife to release allicin.
- Step 2: Place in Jar – Transfer the slightly crushed garlic cloves into the bottom of a clean, dry glass jar.
- Step 3: Submerge in Honey – Pour the raw honey over the garlic cloves until they are completely covered.
- Step 4: Seal and Coat – Tighten the lid on the jar and flip it upside down several times to ensure all garlic is coated.
- Step 5: Fermentation Process – Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 14 to 30 days to allow the natural enzymes to react.
- Step 6: Burp the Jar – Briefly open the lid every 24 hours during the first week to release gases produced by fermentation.
- Step 7: Monitor Consistency – Ensure the honey becomes thinner and more liquid over time, which indicates successful fermentation.
- Step 8: Daily Serving – Consume one teaspoon of the infused honey or one fermented clove daily for immune support.
Notes
Ensure you use raw honey, as pasteurization kills the beneficial enzymes needed for the microbiome support mentioned by Dr. Li.
