Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Filtered water
- 1 tablespoon High-quality Manuka honey (UMF 15+ recommended)
- 1 teaspoon Freshly grated ginger
- 1 slice Organic lemon
- 1 bag Organic green tea
- 1 pinch Ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Step 1: Warm Water – Heat the filtered water to approximately 110°F, ensuring it is not boiling to preserve honey bioactives.
- Step 2: Steep Tea – Place the green tea bag in the warm water and steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Step 3: Prepare Ginger – Grate fresh ginger directly into the mug to release its natural oils and juices.
- Step 4: Temper Water – Remove the tea bag and ensure the liquid has cooled slightly before adding honey.
- Step 5: Add Honey – Stir in the Manuka honey gently until it is completely dissolved in the warm liquid.
- Step 6: Enhance Flavor – Squeeze the juice from the lemon slice into the tonic and drop the slice in.
- Step 7: Season Tonic – Add a pinch of cinnamon on top for additional anti-inflammatory benefits.
- Step 8: Serve Warm – Drink immediately while the bioactive compounds are most potent.
Notes
Never use boiling water with Manuka honey as high heat can destroy the sensitive methylglyoxal (MGO) enzymes that provide its healing properties.
