- 1 package (6-8 count) egg white wraps
- 1 lb lean ground turkey or 95% lean beef
- 2 cups no-sugar-added marinara sauce
- 15 oz part-skim ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat Oven Heat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly coat a baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Step 2: Brown Meat Cook the lean ground meat in a skillet over medium heat until fully browned, then drain fat.
- Step 3: Simmer Sauce Stir the marinara sauce, oregano, garlic powder, and pepper into the meat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Step 4: Prepare Ricotta In a small bowl, whisk the ricotta cheese with one egg until smooth and well combined.
- Step 5: Base Layer Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Step 6: Layer Wraps Place a layer of egg white wraps over the sauce, trimming them if necessary to fit the edges.
- Step 7: Add Fillings Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the wraps, followed by a layer of fresh spinach.
- Step 8: Repeat Assembly Add another layer of meat sauce, wraps, the remaining ricotta, and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
- Step 9: Final Layer Top with a final layer of wraps, the remaining sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.
- Step 10: Bake Dish Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then remove foil and bake for 10 more minutes.
- Step 11: Rest Lasagna Let the lasagna stand for 10-15 minutes before slicing to ensure the protein layers set properly.
Notes
To keep the dish as low-calorie as possible, ensure your marinara sauce has no added sugar and use the leanest meat available.
