- 1 Sourdough bread bowl loaf
- 2 cups Fresh romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup Cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/4 cup Cucumber, diced
- 2 tbsp Red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup Kalamata olives
- 1/4 cup Feta cheese crumbles
- 2 tbsp Creamy hummus
- 3 tbsp Greek vinaigrette dressing
- 4 oz Grilled chicken breast, sliced
- 1 tsp Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare Bread – Slice the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a 1-inch shell.
- Step 2: Prepare Produce – Wash and chop the romaine, tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion into bite-sized pieces.
- Step 3: Add Base – Spread a thick layer of hummus inside the bottom and lower sides of the bread bowl.
- Step 4: Mix Salad – In a large mixing bowl, toss the romaine and vegetables with the Greek vinaigrette until coated.
- Step 5: Fill Bowl – Transfer the dressed salad mixture into the hollowed bread bowl, pressing down gently.
- Step 6: Layer Protein – Arrange the sliced grilled chicken or preferred protein over the top of the greens.
- Step 7: Add Accents – Sprinkle the kalamata olives, feta cheese, and fresh parsley over the salad.
- Step 8: Final Serving – Serve immediately with the bread ‘lid’ on the side for dipping or extra crunch.
Notes
To prevent the bread from getting soggy, assemble the salad immediately before serving.
