Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups sliced fresh peaches (about 6–8 medium)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat Oven & Prep Dish – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a 9-inch square baking dish.
- Step 2: Prepare Peach Filling – In a large bowl, gently toss sliced peaches with 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
- Step 3: Make Topping – In a separate medium bowl, combine rolled oats, 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until well combined and crumbly.
- Step 4: Assemble Crisp – Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
- Step 5: Bake Until Golden – Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
- Step 6: Cool Slightly & Serve – Let the crisp cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For an extra flavor boost, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the topping. If your peaches aren’t very sweet, you can increase the sugar in the filling slightly.
