Homemade Peach Crisp

A delightful and simple-to-make peach crisp with juicy, tender peaches and a golden, crunchy oat topping. Perfect for any occasion, this classic dessert brings smiles with every spoonful.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 6-8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced fresh peaches (about 68 medium)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat Oven & Prep Dish – Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. Step 2: Prepare Peach Filling – In a large bowl, gently toss sliced peaches with 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Step 3: Make Topping – In a separate medium bowl, combine rolled oats, 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until well combined and crumbly.
  4. Step 4: Assemble Crisp – Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
  5. Step 5: Bake Until Golden – Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  6. Step 6: Cool Slightly & Serve – Let the crisp cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the topping. If your peaches aren’t very sweet, you can increase the sugar in the filling slightly.
